about

Polynomial is a three-piece ambient/drone collective featuring Dave Procter, Ash Sagar and John Tuffen. The music created is based on (1) a score developed around the names of the artists (2) some elements of chance and (3) individual choice in terms of playing higher or lower notes when changes take place. This creates a brand new composition each time the score is worked on.

The audio you are listening to and enjoying is a mix of the three different audio recorders set around the performance space in the ruins of Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds in July 2018. This gives the audio a fully live sound, using the acoustic properties of the space as a compositional input to the overall mix. The methods used and its resultant audio mix give a unique representation of being there on that day.

Thanks to all of you who came, listened and talked to us after the event and massive apologies for the delay in releasing this audio!
